We are getting a bill to pay for health insurance for our student athlete. Does anyone else pay for insurance (suplimental)? I would think the university would pay for this.

Is the insurance connected with participating on an athletics team or connected with full-time enrollment at the school? If the former, ask the coach or someone in the AD office. If the latter, you may need to read the fine print from the admissions office about additional fees to pay for campus services for students. This can vary quite a bit at different schools.

If you have insurance as the parent then I thought your health care insurance policy was required by law to cover your children until they turned 26. You may have to pay a for their coverage under your plan.
For parents in the U.S., "If a plan covers children, they generally can be added to or kept on a parent's health insurance policy until they turn 26 years old."
