I understand that the 5k is the premier event. Regardless, I think Evan's best chance remains the steeple. His form over the barriers is very smooth; like the best hurdlers, he maintains momentum better...see Merritt, Angelo, Batman, Kevin Young, Emma Coburn...they all run thru the barriers, where most people jump and therefore lose momentum.
That move from 300 out was something to watch. He just put the screws to it, and the guy couldn't follow. No way that happens unless he's hyper-efficient over the sticks.
His fitness added to his technique gives him a tremendous shot at Worlds and Rio, but only as long as there is something to jump over!
No matter the Paris outcome, Evan has cemented his status. Kenyans are scared, and his appearance fee just skyrocketed.
