I have perfect biomechanics, so I've never paid much attention to over/under pronation control in shoes. My thought was that since I didn't need any "stability" or "motion control" features I could just ignore it.
Then I foolishly bought a pair of Brooks Adrenaline GTX shoes that felt fine in the store, but after running in them for a few miles I've realized that when Brooks says "Ideal for runners with mild pronation" they really meant "These shoes are so horribly lopsided that you should probably seek a surgical solution if you need this much help". It feels like the inside of the sole is an inch thicker than the outside when running in them.
Do I just need to toss them and count it as a $140 lesson learned or is there any way to modify the shoes so that I can still use them for trail running?
