Marijuana smoking became legal in Oregon today. Now, losers have another state where they can light up.

I think they would have lit up anyway.
The one thing legalization really doesn't do is cause non-smokers to suddenly start smoking.
Right. Stupid selfish decisions are made regardless of laws.

Are you and the OP 12 years old?

False. Number of daily pot users is up 22% in Colorado since legalization. Throngs of people who never used it before tried it once it became legal.

Less people would have openly said they smoked prior to legalization.

i can see that. If it were legal in my state I might stop and buy some before a long weekend. I will NOT seek it out now because 1. I have no idea where I'd go to buy it. 2. If I were to be arrested I don't have the cash, nor the inclination to deal with all that mess over the simple act of getting high. 3. I certainly do not want to deal with the legal ramifications of getting caught.
Legalizing it makes it like stopping by the liquor store before a weekend to pick up a bottle of tequila, etc.. not something I'd do every day, but I would do it occasionally.
Legit question, can anyone tell me why "medicinal" marijuana has its own dispensaries when every other "medicinal" drug doesn't? Why can't we just regulate its medical use to pharmacies?

Even if that is true, which is highly unlikely, Colorado residents are doing just fine. Are you one of those kids that watched Reefer Madness and was scared?
It's true, pot use is way up in Colorado. Use the Google to read more.
I personally have no use for weed, legal or not.
Only losers don't smoke a little weed now and then. You must be all uptight accountants or something. Your boss smokes weed.

He misrepresented an already misleading statistic. In polls conducted before and after legalization, the number of people who said they'd smoked weed in the past MONTH rose from 10.4% to 12.7% (a 22% increase). Supporters of the nanny state probably assume that this will lead to a 22% increase in car accidents, raped women, psyche ward admissions.
Daily, weekly, monthly, whatever. The guy said the law legalizing it hasn't encouraged new use. That's patently false as every study has shown. Whether that impacts the other things you list, I don't know or really care.
It must really suck to be so caught up on something like this. So, if you smoke weed you are a loser or are there other things that you need to do/not do to make someone a loser? Just smoking alone makes someone a loser?

Opiod overdoses and deaths are way down (25%) in states w/ medical marijuana.
Crime is down (10% overall and 5% in violent cimes in Denver) since recreational marijuana legalization. Traffic fatalities also dropped.
The state of Colorado increased their tax revenue by $44 million in 2014 due to recreational marijuana legalization.
The state of Colorado has saved money otherwise spent on marijuana policing and imprisonment. Can't find a final number but estimates were from 40-100 million.
Mexican drug cartels have seen profits decrease as domestic production replaces smuggled ditch weed.
Let's be careful, we sure don't want other states headed in this direction...
If anyone is looking for a legitimate reason to NOT use marijuana, look at its effect on sex hormone binding globulin in males. Long story short, marijuana destroys your free testosterone levels. That's why stoners are usually so feminine and apathetic.
Yeah, it's funny how people will say that anyone that smokes weed and needs to alter their state of consciousness is a loser blah blah blah.. but then you would have no problem going to a doctor or surgeon that has an extensive wine collection.
Yes. We should shut down the CA wine industry, prohibit the production of KY bourbon and TN Whiskey. Blow up the breweries in ST.L....
The boards are very reactionary today.
