Marshall didn't make the final (4th in heat) and Brazier was dq'd in his heat.
3 actually - a Canadian HS kid ran 1.47.91 in May - he is going to Wake Forest in the fall. He also ran his first ever outdoor 1500m last week (since Jnr high anyway) and ran 3.45.85 (equivalent to a sub-4.04 mile).
Congrats to Carlton Orange and the Canadian kid. Sub-1:48 is very impressive, and has to be similar in difficulty to a sub-4 mile.
That sucks Brazier got DQed. I wonder how.
The splits in Brazier's prelim are unclear, as he is listed as the leader through 600m but several above are listed with faster actual 600m splits. At any rate, he was 57/1:25 and judging by his previous form, you'd think he could have closed in 27 to qualify--but obviously he either stepped out or obstructed someone. Would have been fun to see him racing Carlton around 1:47 in the final.

He was the leader through 600m. Look at the splits again. 1:25.61 for Brazier, 1:25.74 for Holdsworth, and 1:25.91 for Humphrey with everyone else at 1:26.xx.
He did close in
