meh
that letter is boilerplate - doesn't mean anything
Didn't Alberto claim that he fired him by not renewing his contract?
I'm no lawyer but this letter looks like they mutually agreed to break a contract that still had time left on it - not a failure to Renee. IOW - what you do when you leave for a new job, which Magness did.

The contract was not renewed. The letter is a nice way of letting Mags down.
Incompetence , sexual harassment what else did Mags do??
Alberto said his contract wasn't renewed. This is a mutual agreement to terminate a contract that still had money left - two very different things.

Who exactly did Magness sexually harass?

What? 5 hours in and Salazar's claims are already coming undone.

Thank you for the new word agip. Never heard that before.

Exactly. Pretty standard fluff.
Well if it was a mutual departure and ALSAL is claiming he was fired does that give magness a right to sue Nike and ALSAL for defamation or libel?

Not really. Magness knew his days were numbered so he got a new job.
This actually backs up what Salazar said...he wanted to give Steve a chance to do something well somewhere else. This letter basically is a way for Steve to have that opportunity.
100% guarantee that is a boilerplate letter from the HR department. I've fired people for performance reasons I would never re-hire and they've gotten nice letters like that in hopes they will be successful somewhere else. That's the way it works in corporate america.

Second this. That's how it works. In fact I 100% expected that this is what happened before I saw this article.

This collaborates what Alberto said; what am I missing.
It may be "boilerplate" but it also backs up Magness. Despite the well meaning Salazar you have a Corp letter stating emphatically it was a mutual decision.
This is a legal document, not a "I knew we were gonna break up so I dumped her before she broke up with me" situation.
Salazar said he was fired. The document refutes it. Yes, I know how it works in the corp world but the proof in that one instance is with Magness/Epstein.
And yeah, we all knew he was banging Jackie on the side. Old news. When can we look into Mo cheating on his wife in between adenaline shots? Hey-o!

No he didn't. He clearly said he chose not to renew the contract due to Steve's incompetence.

And this document doesn't support either of those claims. It says they mutually decided to cancel his existing contract - which is exactly what you do when you leave mid contract for another job.
Call it HR boilerplate all you want but one thing is absolutely certain - this wasn't a decision not to renew the contract when it expired. It was a mutual cancelation of a contract that still had time left. Alberto lied.
BBC said 12,000 words.
Daily Mail says 11,000 words.
Who is right?
The word in the industry back then was that Magness was fired for his relationship with Jackie Areson. Steve will tell you this himself.
Alberto did not say that Magness's contract wasn't renewed. Alberto explicitly said that Magness signed two one-year contracts during his time with Nike, and that he terminated Magness's employment midway through the second one, in 2012. This letter supports Alberto's claim.
