Choosing the 1500 over the 800? Seems like a poor decision to me. I know he's run 3:34 but he has yet to replicate that performance. The 15 is more competitive this year no? Something weird has to happen for Centro to not get his spot. Leo, you never know, but he's always shown up for USA outdoor so far. And you've got a bunch of really hungry guys who want that third spot bad. Most of them have more consistent records and more championship experience than Andrews.
In the 800 Duane Solomon is probably a lock, but he's more likely to fall off or have a bad race than Centro is in the 1500. Symmonds could have a great race and qualify but anyone who's been paying attention knows that he's not the same runner he was a couple years ago. And the rest of the field is just not quite as qualified as the 1500 field. Maybe Sowinski's a cut above the rest but by no means a sure thing.
Seems like a bad call to me. He's an unreal talent. Hate to see poor decisions set him up for failure.
