Come Saturday, the best of the best will line up in Seattle for a 2 mile. Who do you have? We all know you have to run away from Fisher before the last lap. Who can do it? Hunter?

fisher 8:38
hunter 8:39
brannigan 8:41
hacker 8:43
tamagno 8:47
webb 8:48
klecker 8:50
dressel 8:52
This is a homer call, but Joe Klecker ran 8:50 for 3200m around the time he ran 4:10 for 1600m early in the season. Two weeks ago he ran 4:04.13 for the mile; he might something big brewing!

I'm heard that he was running alone as well during that 8:50 and 4:10, so definitely wish the best for him
I'm really hoping that they realize that a sit and kick race is impossible with Fisher. I'm hoping someone takes it out in a 4:20 mile or better. I don't mind if Fisher wins as long as it's sub 8:40 3200 equivalent. This field is too talented for the winning time to be in the 8:50s.

I agree with your top 3, but I have few changes.
fisher 8:38
hunter 8:39
brannigan 8:41
klecker 8:43
webb 8:47
hacker 8:48
tomagno 8:50

Klecker has a really good mentality so I've put him at 4th.
Hacker is good, but I haven't seen amazing times from him, I have him at 6th. Tomagno felt so horrible at Dream that he dropped out of the race. I'm not confident he's feeling any better; 7th.
Webb proved himself at dream so I have him behind Klecker at 5th.
Dressel hasn't been in the picture for most of the season so I'll leave him at 8th.
I agree that Klecker is a force to be reckoned with. He is just getting better and better. I think he and Hunter are going to put the pedal to the metal and make this race fast.
The whole field is really pretty amazing. But I think, deep down, most of those guys are content, losing to Grant. Most of them are racing for second place. I am pretty sure Hunter is not. He may not beat Grant, but he will try.
Fisher, Hacker, Hunter, Brannigan
I'm cheering for Conner Mantz, in his last race before leaving on a two-year church mission in Ghana. He's run an 8:52. At least I hope he'll go out hard and make it an honest race like he did last year.
These times assume somebody is going to take the pace hard. Not sure that will happen but I agree with the order except I think Thomas Pollard will be somewhere in the top 7.
I hope Brannigan wins. You can't help but want him to win.
Is there a reason Tanner Anderson doesn't run any of these meets?
NO WAY they're going sub 8:40!!!! 8:42 at best!
Hunter 8:42
Fisher 8:44
Thomet 8:45
Brannigan 8:46
Klecker 8:46
Reiser 8:46
Dressel 8:47
Mantz 8:47
Webb 8:49
Hacker 8:49
Spiezio 8:50
Pollard 8:50
Brandt 8:51
Tamagno 8:54 & sick again
Anderson sucks at track, that's why he doesn't run any of these meets.
Reiser of Illinois tempo'd a 8:49 3200.
He also won Arcadia off a 60 last lap.

If Brannigan/Hunter (or anyone else) wants to win they are going to have to push the pace - I do not think hoping to be able to outkick Fisher in the last 800 is not a good recipe for success. My guess is the 1st mile goes out in 4:19 - 4:21.
I was just looking through the start lists. Why isn't ostberg entered?
stress fracture

Looks like he's entered at the New Balance Nationals (Boy's 5000M) in North Carolina-

I'm making my pick for Hunter as well.
But I'm honestly not too sure about the claim that he will have to break Fisher before the final lap. In his only real 800m this year, he ran 1:52.98, beating two other guys with faster PRs. And he had the fastest 2mile indoors this year.
I think in even an 8:45 race, Hunter could close in 57 to Fisher's 58. He's known all along that this was his best chance at a national-level win.
