Wow
Honestly Hasay's not nearly as great as you guys seem to think she is
She still can't kick, and I don't think she even made the worlds standard
I know shes a 10k runner, but even her 10k isn't even under 32 yet

It was her first race back from injury. I'd say she did very well.
It was her first race off her "supplements". I'd say she did very well.
Not to defend Hasay, but she's run under 31:40 twice, and ran away from Goucher in their last important race. I imagine it will take sub 31 to make the team this time.
It was awesome drama. Goucher was definitely the favorite over Hasay in the eyes of the crowd. No sign of Alberto but both Gouchers and Magness were very visible. It was obvious that Alberto was intentionally not in attendance.
Weird behavior by a man that claims to be innocent.

No.
It may take sub 31 to win, but nobody besides Molly or Shalane is running sub 31 at USAs. Or probably at all any time soon.
The Kara haters must be so mad right now.
Wow. George Hanson set a huge world record of 9:00.71 in the men's open 5k
Does this get Kara into USA's? She made it sound like she had it in the bag in her pre-race interview.
Actually, scratch that.. standard is 15:26. Her track season is over.
good on both of them - Goucher is a marathoner - 15:40 isn't bad there. To run 2:30, each 5k is just 17:45
Hasay, well, she'll have to get lucky to get on the team - she's not going to improve that much in 10 days.

I forget how many people make it, but after the standard, they fill the field with the next fastest people who didn't qualify by time. I think Kara Goucher qualified under that umbrella.
Oiselle tweeted that 15:40 should qualify her this year, and I don't really think there's any time left for other people to fill up those spots, so she should be in. Although I don't have a running list going so I'm not sure.
Saw that and also didn't see times listed in the majority of the results. What's with that?
OK so I checked and the field size is 24. Before this weekend, 24th best time this year was 15:40.48 by Maddie Meyers. So she's not automatically in, but if any of those athletes don't run, she's pretty much in.
She was beaten by Goucher, not beat by her.
Hasay wouldn't run the 5,000 regardless. She is qualified in the 10 but can't see her making the team. Wow! Papas might beat her at nationals. My guess is she doesn't run.
Noticed that - hilarious.

You do realize this was her first race back from injury and being that the USAs are only 2 weeks out, she almost certainly did not give up any training days to tapper for this race. All things considered, this was not bad result for Hasay.
I firmly believe that Jordan Hasay can still develop into one of, if not the absolute greatest distance runner of all time. She has a perfect frame and flawless biomechanics. It is just a case of waiting for everything else to click together, which it inevitably will if she remains under the guidance of Al Sal long term.

I thought e headline should be nation's most prominent distance runner, Kara Goucher, would have been lucky to make it on podium at NCAAs.
Hasay is coming off an injury, what's Goucher's excuse? Don't give the she's a marathoner because the nation's most prominent distance runner cant cop out with that bs.
