That's awesome. Good for him.
Not cool to make that public, regardless of the circumstances.
I love his HBO show.
There's nothing respectful about showing the world private text messages.
The real question is what took so long. Mr. Johnson has an MBA in fine arts, drama. He has been acting the role of a track coach for many years. He has fooled a lot of people. Not only is his scientific knowledge poor but he has a real mean side. He is a polarizing person. Talk to his former athletes. Some love him, some hate him and some fear him because of his political power in USATF.

That was awesome. Sometimes, some coaches, need a take down.
Power corrupts, and to too many coaches, coaching is power, and it brings out the dictator or bully in them.
Brooks needs apologize, and then go the way of Blatter.

Given that Johnson's comment was public, Oliver's reply was not only very appropriate, it was necessary to defend his reputation. He has clearly shown great restraint for years, but the time has come for Johnson's abusive behavior to be presented to the public.
Oh how I wish I had had such courage in my dealings with him back in the 90s ...
Good for Oliver.
Brooks Johnson was always a racist azzhole anyway. I don't understand why he had so much influence on the USATF, nor why he was able to have athletes buy into his shite.
I'll agree with "been around." Sounds like Oliver should have dumped Johnson years ago.
well said. Best of luck going forward David.

What the heck is an MBA in fine arts?
"...I was on the verge of saying right back “or maybe you’re just being out coached by John Smith” ...
What happened with Carmelita Jeter, and J-Rich? They're not in the same level.

Like email, you send a text message knowing that it can be forwarded or shared. If you send anything via email or text that you expect to remain private, you deserve the result.

Not likely. Always had the big body and fast times.

True True. The man is built like a linebacker.
Nice tidbit inside the program.
"Why was a couple months ago the first time we marked off the 16 hurdle workout, although the new track has been in place since Jan ’13? Competitive race model? 45s down the track? Mock event workout? "
Anyone been over 10 hurdles in a workout? 16 is on another level
typical millennial pu$$y who can't handle a little feedback
I predict a sharp decline for Oliver. It's a b!tch move to make it public as well. Kind of hypocritical not to do it face-to-face as that's something he criticises Johnson for.

Except that he has been trying to drop weight from his upper body for years now. Not something you do by juicing.
Don't be jealous because you're not naturally huge and ripped like me
