I sign up for a month or two a year and in the past have not had a problem cancelling. Last month when I went to the provided link to cancel it, I couldn't find the place to cancel. So I filled out their contact form requesting them to cancel. I then got charged for the next month. I then sent them another contact form asking them to reverse the charge and cancel the recurring charge going forward. I sent a second contact form at the same time asking them to email or call me so that I knew a human being had read it. No response for a week. I couldn't find a phone number on the website, which may be user error.
I then contacted my credit card company. The representative was very huffy, saying this was my problem and they are a bank that by law must process authorized transactions. She said I should have taken a screen shot of what I had sent to Flotrack. That's difficult because the Flotrack contact form is very clunky. The representative offered to call the phone number listed on the charge (I hadn't noticed this or I would have called it). The representative called it and the number was out of service, which pissed her off. She then went to the website and didn't see some basic policy things that a reputable company should have on the site. This pissed her off further. She also couldn't find a prominently displayed customer service phone number. This pissed her off even further. She went against policy and immediately reversed the charge pending final resolution of the complaint. She requested that I write Flotrack a letter and keep a copy so that I had documentation to at a minimum get any future charges reversed. She strongly suggested that I never do business with FloTrack again.
I got an email from the credit card company about three days later saying the matter had been resolved in my favor. It'll be a couple of days to see if I get another monthly charge.
Bottom line is that I spent about 2 hours on a matter that should take 15 seconds and I don't yet know if the recurring charge issue has been resolved because FloTrack has still not contacted me. I like their service, but if they treat people like me this badly, Good Lord, what kind of a future do they have?
