What are there so many running clubs in the boston area with runners of overlapping abilities?
Like why have the BAA, GBTC, and NB Boston that are all made up of runners of roughly the same ages, running abilities, and live near each other; that offer minimal benefits; and that appear to an outsider as roughly the same thing?
I get clubs like CMS and Greater Lowell who practice in different parts of town. Or SISU that seems to have a different feel to it. But why so much overlap in Boston?
Do we even need running clubs any more? Why doesn't everyone just organize runs/workouts on LetsRun?
