Hi. So I am a high school cross country and distance track runner. This weekend, i just finished my spring track season, and my couch told me to take a 2 week break to recover from the tough season. Like absolutely no running at all. I am signed up to do a town road race 5K in two weeks. It's not for my XC season or anything, just me doing it for fun. Would it be safe to actually race this 5K after a two week break from running? I really want to try to break 21 minutes, but I don't want to get injured. Thanks.
