Wow, up to ten officials to be deported to US on corruption etc. charges.

Good, hopefully we can have the USATFF/IAAF busted for their sordid backroom deals to get Eugene the Wrold Champs.
I've got my own issues. I'm not subscribing to yours.
Who is the "we"? I think you are on an island alone.
IOC should be next.
IAAF.
Take 'em all down, Ms. DAOTUS!
I was just wondering about that myself... there have been allegations against Diack's son among others.
Keep in mind Monaco may not be on the same page as the Switzerland. They still love hiding cash and protecting their clientèle.
Is there even an investigation against the IAAF/USATF in the US? Or anywhere else for that matter?
Also, the amount of money/interest there is in football vastly dwarves athletics.
Wonder how Blatter isn't getting arrested. Maybe officials are hoping to generate a case against him with these other guy's testimony?
Blatter is the Teflon Don of FIFA. They won't get anything on him. He is paying off the guys who were arrested and will continue to do so. They won't say anything bad about the guy because the kickbacks would stop.

Blatter is very careful, i would actually be surprised to see him directly implicated.
As well, all of the officials arrested have been from CONCACAF or CONMEBOL. This is because the FBI was scessful at flipping Chuck Blazer and two Warner sons--who operated in this hemisphere. Also because those entitites have business offices in the US it is easier to seize records and assert jurisdiction. The US FBI actions mostly have to do with broadcast rights and regional tournaments.
Various CAF and AFC officials will be implicated in the Swiss investigation about vote fixing in the bids. The Swiss complaint specifically states that FIFA contacted them and are the aggrieved party in the vote fixing portion.
A very important part of the timing of this investigation is the Chuck Blazer--the chief FBI informant, is reportedly very ill. The case would be strongly helped by his testimony and hurt by his inability to testify. Let's hope they have these guys dead to rights and can move very quickly.
I think the IOC would be before the IAAF, but who knows. Hopefully both.
Soccer is obviously corrupt: the dives, the officiating. Deflate-gate pales by comparison. As well, soccer is stultifying. Give us real and global sports such as tennis.
Read "The Lords of The Rings" by Andrew Jennings.
I always get the feeling that organizations such as FIFA and IAAF are just simply too big to be ever "busted". You may get one or two sacrificial lambs outed but that will be best that one could hope for. The IAAF was basically outed as willfully not testing 100s of athletes appropriately a few months ago and nothing happened to them, just one or two names mentioned in a documentary. Or look at the UCI; they were revealed to be covering up for Lance Armstrong for over 10 years, Lance was thrown under the bus and virtually nothing happened to the big shots in the UCI. It's just the way world is.

Lets hope that USATF would be investigated. Combine the investigation with the IAAF they would make FIFA look like a bunch of nuns at Sunday school.
One or two sacrificial lambs does not seem like much, but, it's good enough for me.
Most of these organizations attract the type of people that would have no trouble slaying a lamb for their own personal gain. As long as big sporting monopolies exist we'll have these problems.
