Interesting 2 women's 800 races and Laura Roesler the hometown girl (ran college for the University of Oregon via North Dakota) is not in either, after last season I thought she would go 1:57-58 this year.
Will Masters runner Kip Lagat get a 13:23 Worlds Q
or a 13:32 USA Nats Q out of this race?
Will Ryan Hall get past the 2400m mark?
Jock vs Aman. I say Jock
Roesler was injured in January or February after she ran one indoor race. She came back after some time off and ran a 1500 and a 4x400 leg one week and an 800 and 4x4 leg another week in small meets in Texas in March. She ran 4:20 and 2:03.99. She was on entry lists for Mt SAC and for Hoka High Performance, and she said in an interview she'd be at Drake, but she didn't run in any of those places. I suspect her injury is still troubling her. I've seen nothing about it anywhere, though.
Like you, I was hoping she'd run 1:57 or 1:58 this year. I thought she was a good bet for the World Championship team because of her smart tactics and great kick. It looks instead like she may not race anymore at all this year, since getting into good meets after missing the main domestic season will be tough.
