It was 100F at the most revent meeting @ Doha, Qatar. So it's a crappy place to compete anyway.
And the World Cup being hosted there was all due to bribes - clearly no one in their right mind would host a world cup in November/December in the HEART of the Pro Soccer season.
Personally I find it very difficult to feel good about track or soccer being held in Doha. The naysayers will argue that every country has it's problems. That is true, however, not every nation has indentured servants. I can say from personal experience that Doha is a glittering place that rests upon a very ugly system of exploitation. It saddens me to think of track meets being held there.
Frankly, they should ban having such events in any country the represses religious freedom.

I don't think they would, but I have the right to express my desire that it be done. I remember a time when people thought it was "cute" to imagine track athletes could break free of the amateur system and get paid--yet it came to pass. Who knows if the IAAF will ever change, probably not soon or ever, but we can talk about it.
