why does swedish mid d suck???

Swedes are all neuter now. No han or hon, just hen.

On the other hand this allows their women to run sub 4. Some say that's why Aregawi moved there.

That could be true. Is Sweden the most neutered country in the world?

Men often take their wife's name when they get married.

Men usually take more than 50% responsibility in child upbringing. The man could be a CEO, a VP... But when child gets sick, the man usually takes the day off...

I give that country another 50 years until complete demise

Many years ago I saw Swede Anders Garderud (OG '76) Steeple in WR of 8:08.

Too bad their runners haven't kept up with their jumpers, both vertical and horizontal.

After the Brits beat them to four minutes it broke their spirit. But the Swedes are still legendary.

Good question about their middle distance men. Interestingly, Engholm the younger went 3:57 mile (that may have been altitude converted) and change indoors running for New Mexico this season. Not sure he is their future or their savior, but there is potential. They have another young buck or two roaming the world who may run fast also.

Sweden is a great country, and culture. Women had the vote there 100 years before the USA.

I was dating a Swedish model, and COMPLETELY satisfied with her looks and hotness...and living in Stockholm, she was in a class, and I walked downtown from Ganla Stan, turned the corner and walked into a woman that was the hottest woman I'd ever seen. Literally stopped in my tracks.

Experience taught me that Danish women are happier, and less crazy than Swedish women.

Here are the all time Swedish lists. There aren't many recent additions, except for the 800m. There are a lot of times from the 70s and 80s.

Because the most influential book on distance running training was written by Anders Gärderud and two other guys in the late 1980s and this is how they think runners should train:

17 year old 1500m runner, base training

mon: easy running 12-14 km+circuits

tues: 30 min jog

wed: easy running 8-10 km+circuits

thu: other sports (not endurance)

fri: track 20x200

sat: 30 min jog

sun: 6x30, 5x40, 4x50+strength
