Okay so here is my deal. I just graduated HS last week, and am thinking about my future in the sport of track and field. My HS career was filled with injuries, anemia, etc. I feel like my jr and sr seasons were stepping stones to a lot more. I trained for the 800m and finished with a 2:02. However, my training had me going sub 2, but I had a nagging hamstring injury in the last 2.5 weeks of the season. I looked around and saw that I could walk on at some D2 schools with a 2:02, but unfortunately they were all out of state. Due to not being able to handle that financial burden it looks like I will be enrolling in the nearest state school which happens to be in the SEC ( not great for a 2:02 guy ). I was wondering if anyone here has had success with running clubs, and has been able to earn a chance to walk on to their varsity team or another team that had picked up interest from starting in a colleges club team? Also open to advice on how to strengthen hamstrings to take hard training (reoccurring issue)
