Didn't your doctor give you a rehab schedule? Or at least refer you to a PT who can supervise your recovery?
Assuming not, you need to say whether it was just a labrum repair or a labrum repair with osteotomy (shaving down the bone too). Most top doctors nowadays are doing the osteotomy as well because the thought is that the labral tear is caused by femoro-acetabular impingement (FAI), where the bone in your femur rubs against your hip joint. As you might guess, the recovery from the repair + osteotomy is a lot longer than the recovery from just repair.
Occasionally surgeons will also apply microfracture to the cartilage, I think if there has been degeneration there. This adds more time to recovery as well.
If you really did not get any specifics from your doctor or PT and you had the labral tear + osteotomy surgery, email me and I can send you the exact rehab schedule I was given when I had this surgery so you can at least have something to reference. From what I can recall, it was ~4-6 weeks on crutches and no running at all until 16 weeks. My doctor said I wouldn't feel 100% back to normal for a year, and he was about right.
