You can't believe the deliberately-disseminated disinformation put out by those that wish to cover up the truth.
First of all, the original architects may have intended for the face to only appear under very specific circumstances (such as ancient astrological stone structures which indicated growing/harvesting seasons here on earth). Secondly, the original picture was from 20 years ago. Why would anyone expect this to remain unchanged on Mars' hostile environment?!
