A week ago I posted this
"A week and a half ago I was running and mid run had to stop as the pain in my sacral area was unbearable. The day previously, I did feel a bit of a niggle but took no notice.
I could do about 5 miles and it was unbearable that day. The pain is located around the sacral area. It's feels a bit better after rest I can walk on it but it's still painful, if I put weight on it or maneuver awkward it's very painful.
The Dr thinks it is a stretched ligament as the muscles have been tight and it's caused a strain. I however think it may be stress fracture, just due to the fact the same type of pain is still there, even after icing resting and stretching it and applying ibuprofen cream to it, also the milage I was doing, stupidly taking no rest days, usually 11-13 miles each day.
I don't think it would be a trapped nerve or sciatica as it's not shooting down the back of my thigh."
Anyway, I received a lot of helpful and friendly advice here :o) I went back to the Dr's and they've told me again that I've disputed the sacrum joint. They really don't think it's a fracture as I could only sustain that in a car accident or something with a lot of force, apparently.
I've been on strong ibruphen tablets for a few days, seems a lot better, I've have come off them now, however pain is still there, although a lot, lot more manageable, I'm able to walk with hardly any pain but as soon as I run it's there again and I know if I were to attempt a 1 mile run the pain most likely be like the pain I experienced at the onset of injury.
I'm into the third week of not running, just wondering would a strained ligament in the sacrum joint really take this long to heal, I mean I'm still young surely not this long to heal?
Has anybody else experienced this?
