Honest question.
Honest question.
- Farah just raced a high-quality 3 against the world's best in the Diamond League, just weeks after a great half marathon.
- Blankenship ran a great Diamond 1500.
- Centro, Manzano, Wheating and basically everyone with a legit chance for worlds (who weren't at Diamond races) ran in AT LEAST the Hoka invitational.
Rupp ducking is nothing new. But is going to absolutely need to make standard at Pre, and well, we know all that Rupp's habit of not starting or finishing races makes this dicey at best.
Just going to watch other runners from the stands and then do post-race workouts.

0/10
Unless AlSal is now controlling the weather, Rupp didn't duck anything. He was scheduled to run the 5000 at Oxy but it was rained out.

So that's one race.
Other runners have done several.
I haven't seen anything from Ibrahim Jeilan. (10,000m medalist in the last two World Championships)
No Gebremeskel
Any Bekeles?
Rupp is likely on paternity level. Worlds are out. He'll back later this year and focus on the 2016 Olympics.
Let's stick to Americans mmmmm?
where did the op state "americans only"? "has every runner except" does not equate to "has every american runner except" got it, okay?

The rain out was a ploy.

Cam Levins has run "several" races?
Chris Derrick has run "several" races?
Evan Jager has run "several" races?
Lopez Lomong has run "several" races?
Ryan Hill has run "several" races?
Andrew Bumbalough has run "several" races?
Seems like at this point of the season, a lot of athletes have done one or zero races.
The fact is that very few American elites have not raced yet.
Leer and Rupp are exceptions and known whiners. The overwhelming majority have raced.

Got it. Anyone who hasn't run yet, even if it's because their opening race got canceled, is a whiner. So Chris Derrick is a whiner. Andrew Bumbalough is a whiner. . . Oh, never mind. This thread has somehow gotten too stupid for words. I give up, you're right. Rupp and Leer suck.
Neither Derrick or Bumbalough have raced. Really hope they're not injured.

Unfortunately it sounds like Bumbalough is.
@abumbalough
Unfortunately, a small injury will keep me from running Payton Jordan 10k. Was looking forward to opening the season but will have to wait!

With the exception of maybe Jager, which "American runners" even remotely approach the success Rupp has had??? The question should never be about what is wrong with Rupps prepraration or approach, but what the heck is wrong with everyone elses?
And yeah, you clearly know he was scheduled to race at Oxy along with most of his NOP teammates.

Looks like he is doing the 5000 at Pre. Guess only 2 more weeks of these threads

...and so is Lagat.
What about Levins? He's not in the 5,000m? Is he doing the 10,000m?
