Swiftwicks! They're far and away the best socks I've run in.
Saucony Mirage is my shoe of choice, low weight, low drop, while maintaining the necessary stability to combat my pronation.
As far as apparel, I really don't think it matters much, as long as you have a couple nice running shorts, a pair of tights for winter, a tech shirt or two, light running jacket, and then hat and gloves, obviously depending on where you live. Honestly most apparel products seem the same, I don't think the exact model really matters much.
With regards to nutrition, I'd say can't be a CLIF bar, but I'm sure there are better options out there.
I don't know of really know of any up and coming running companies out there.
Wow! Great! That's some helpful crap!
Can you give us more tips? Can you? Can you?
I suppose, since you've asked so nicely. Free advice: run against traffic, and make sure to kick at the end of races. Those are pro tips.
In addition, because I'm in a generous mood, I'll let you in on some neat English knowledge. "Helpful crap" is what's known as an oxymoron. You say that like OX + the letter E + more + on. An oxymoron is an example of figurative language in which contradicting terms are used in conjunction. *The More You Know*

Perhaps you can let yourself in on some neat English knowledge and look up "irony" and "sarcasm".
The Google "laxatives" since you seem to be a bit backed up.
Carry on.
