I'm a high school boy running track for the first time. My first 800m time was a 2:23. Is it possible for me to reach a 2:05 time by the end of the season?

It depends on your times and what your training is like, but don't set such a lofty goal so quickly. Make your goals incremental, and soon enough you'll be at 2:05.
Completely possible, that's exactly what I did in my first year of track.
Now you know, go train for it! Reading this forum won't improve your 800m.
Let me tell you a story about a freshman soccer player who ran track for his first year and xc at ny school. He didn't break 20 in the 5k but had killer speed. He started around the same time as you and lowered his time throughout the season to 2:07.. Of course it's possible all you have to do is work hard and believe in yourself. Of course stay healthy & everything that goes with it. But most importantly get your 400m split faster. The kid im talking about can split a 54 in a 4x4 But cruises the first lap in an 800 no higher than a 64. He has a killer kick too. Just work hard & be patient you have 3 years ahead of you. Good luck!
