Some waspy strapping lads with golden brows posted on here a few days ago about sub 5 track mile in boat shoes and canvas fashion sneakers. One guy was wearing khaki shorts.
I myself do occasionally jog in casual long pants, if I'm walking my dog for instance and if the pants are loose and hoisted via a belt. In college I used to run in tight clothes unintentionally to make class or meetings on time etc. But the mere thought of running "fast" by societal standards (sub 7) for more than 800m in constricting clothing has for as long as I can remember given me a headache.
That said some people have a penchant for tackling Unergonomic tasks, typically Guinness world record holders (like the somersault 5k) or the business suit marathon runner. Maybe someone should try the terrible footing 5k record, where someone attempts to run fast on pavement that is slick with a thin half inch of grey cola brown snow mush from high traffic (and is frustratingly slippery and in need of service/sweeping).
Perhaps WeJo training for this summer's media 800m at World's? For those who don't remember his most impressive 2013 performance, see http://www.flotrack.org/coverage/251042-Media-800-Race-Moscow-2013/video/719458-M-800-H03-Weldon-Johnson-in-full-pants#.VVachnD3aK0

Was this in Eugene? I know a guy there who matches that description.
I have coached several homeschooled kids who came to practice in jeans, cargo pants, khakis, polo shirts. They just had no idea that that was not what you wear to a sports practice.
Bill Rodgers said in his book that when he started back running after his hiatus he ran a 30K in jeans and a heavy sweater. As you could imagine, it didn't go well.
What a monster kick! wejo, superb! A lot of fun to watch.

I was impressed. Did he close in 60s?
Once, just for the hell of it, I did a short run (3-4 miles, 30-35 minutes) in street attire on the usual jogging trail. Black jeans, Ecco street shoes, dress shirt, Gap nylon shell. A cool October night when I'd forgotten to bring my running clothes to my university job. It felt surprisingly natural. I had a sudden memory of high school, which--back in the mid-70s--often saw me and my classmates throwing down our books during recess to kick around a soccer ball out on the field.
My arches hurt a little the next day.
I get a 1/2 lunch were I work and I always keep a pair of sneakers in my locker. Some times when I need a run I go over to the track about 5 minutes away and knock out 3 miles in my jeans.

Where the hell was I in 2013 when this video was posted?! This should be LetsRun famous! I feel like the Brojos are two goofy SOBs, but their sense of humor is always lost here because they don't know how to deliver a good joke via message board or running article. Then again, neither do 95% of us who post. Meh.

There are some Amish runners in PA who always run in long pants -- but not khakis I think.
That video has been posted a lot. But rojo always deletes it and bans everyone who posts it.
I had a fellow freshman XC runner on my team this year who once ran four miles in a t-shirt, heavy cargo pants, and Sperrys. Not surprisingly, our coach wasn't too happy, and neither was he. The same guy later did about 50 yards of walking lunges in the last few minutes before a race. We still joke about that six months later.
I regularly run in polo shirts. Adidas has some nice wicking ones designed for golfing that Haile trains in, I'm not really sure why, just try it.
It makes you feel like Walter George, Lon Myers, or some other classy old time great, or like you're in the beach scene in Chariots of Fire.

PA
It was OR, but not Eugene. When I first saw it, it seemed strange. Now it seems like a good idea. It looks comfortable.
Especially seeing a 2:17 800m in khakis. And especially after some loose dog jumped up on me last night and scratched up my legs.

Jealous? Or embarassed with his 2:49?
I ran a 2:09 indoor, hand time, 800m in jeans back in 2000. No joke. WR?
.

Why would they do that? It makes no sense. I'd imagine Wejo would be proud of that monster kick

Idk how people can do that. I would be fine with the running, but soaking wet and extremely uncomfortable afterwards.
