WOW
Had nothing that whole race then narrowly avoided a fall at the back.

He always used to start way back and catch up. He probably wouldn't have posted a great time tonight, but that trip-up definitely had a huge effect.

You are a complete moron and anyone who didn't see the race is going to be warped by your idiotic assertion.
I am not even a fan of this stupid Symmonds come back, but he was in fine positioning before the trip made him literally stop running. Use your brain before you post moronic sh*t. You were probably one of the tools on the radio chat posting derogatory garbage.
Looked he was heading towards a 1:48 race. Which isn't bad given his time off, but would have opened him up to criticism on these boards. In one sense, the fall will save him from some criticism on these boards.

Nice! He would probably be all american in division 2!
Guess it was all that training for the beer mile. Lesson for the kids.
He looked fat to me.
His 3 k indoors was just off of base. He will be ready for Worlds.
His 1500 at Payton was because he was running out of event.
He was tripped in his 800.
FUTURE EXCUSES
After failing at Nationals. I was just getting back into racing, nothing matters until 2016.
What has been his best performance as a Brooks athlete?
HE IS DONE.
0/10

You should probably be aware that using the word, 'tool', in that manner makes you sound like you are in 7th grade.
Symmonds at 32 has for over 10 years competed at the highest level in the sport in a very demanding event. No place to hide in the 800m. Your weaknesses are exposed quickly and the pace is unforgiving. He is a multiple US champion, and we show well as a nation in the event at the world level. He's been in World Champs and Olympic finals. A great runner any way you look at things.
he's coming back from a major injury and a lot of time off. he is not fit. his time will come again, but it will not be for months. the one thing is that he will need to be on by nationals in six weeks to make it to Beijing. He's turned the corner very quickly in the past. Nothing promising this year so far. 8:20 3k??? Well, then 1:49 with a moment coming to a complete sudden stop and then going doesn't look that bad, and maybe we'll see a 1:47 next time out and the shape will be coming along.

i think Symmonds is probably done, but to be fair, he does tend to hang back, so it's hard to judge a race where he did not have a clean last lap.

I just watched the video- it's pretty amazing he ran 1:49 given the contact/disruption- and knowing that he was out of it and having to run on his own certainly couldn't have helped his performance- so I think he could easily have been headed for 1:47 today. Let's see what happens in his next race.
Does he have the usatf qualifier? He'll get it, just clarifying if he gets a pass from past history, like Goucher in 2008 10k.
Will he be able to run the world qualifier? Percentage wise, I think it's 50/50.
