Maybe I missed her races but I haven't heard anything about Ms. Simpson well, basically all year. Is she just laying low, injured or what?

She broke the american record for 2 miles indoors.
Yes. Of course. But that was early this year. When is she racing again?
Where is she? Cowering in the corner hiding from the all new improved Shannon Rowbury.

Jenny Simpson could give Shannon a one second head start and still beat her (easily) in 4 out of 5 races IMO.

What is all new improved about Shannon Rowbury?
She's shown on the entry list for both the 800 and 1500 at this Thursday's Hoka One One Middle Distance Classic race (http://www.usatf.org/Events---Calendar/2015/Hoka-One-One-Middle-Distance-Classic/Status-of-Entries.aspx). Assume she'll only be racing in one?
just the facts jack wrote:

Thanks for the facts, jack.
It's going to be a long season this year (USATF then World's then Diamond League). But she's got to have the AR in mind (she's already got two
World medals, one gold, and a Diamond League championship. Oxy will be a warm-up, but I wouldn't be surprised at the Pre.

You nailed it, long season, she will run the majors at the diamond league tour ending up in Beijing. None of this pre season stuff counts in the big leagues.
She is a master at peaking.
World Championships are at the end of August so people are probably going to be opening up later than usual this outdoor season. Most of the Diamond League season will be before the World Championships.
Ok. Thanks for your thoughts. But it is May!
Just surprised she haven't heard a peep. Look forward to lots of great competition (and interviews) from Jenny!
Where would you have liked to have seen her? Diamond League season hasn't even started yet..

Hi, I don't know. I'm not an expert on this stuff. Just a Central Florida fan wanting to know what's up actually. I've seen results from other pros and just nothing from Jenny.
I think that she has only one date circled on her calendar for the year - the date of the finals of the 1500 at Bejing. Everything else will be a lead in to that - including the USA's since she has an automatic qualifier for Worlds on the basis of her Diamond League championship. I think she has a great shot at gold at the Worlds - in the last year she has proven she can win slow, tactical races, as well as really fast races. Will be sooooo fun to watch!
That's the key. It's a luxury she has to start training late and not worry about USAs.
Pregnant? Retired?

Just wanted to mention Simpson's late and light start doesn't seem to be just because of her situation already having a spot at World's, The whole Boulder Wetmore/ Burroughs women's training group I know about (Simpson, Coburn, Goucher, Kipp) ALL seem to have raced lightly so far this year, with the only outdoor race for any of them I know of off hand being a rust buster 1500 by Kipp (obviously not her main event, but she did PR) at Payton Jordan.
As others have said, assume it's because it's a LONG season this year.
(All 4 noted above are registered for this Thursday evening's Hoka One meet, with Coburn in the 1500 and not Steeple. As a general Colorado fan, looking forward to see how they'll all do.)
