Good thought- let's go with shortened (Ritz) and stylized (El G) but not last name alone(Webb)

Does any other sport have a significant more of this sort of thing? In most cases it's just when the name is unique:
NFL: If I say "Peyton", you know about who I am speaking, but if I say "Joe", there's confusion over whether it is Montana or Naimath.
