He's asking about the Oxy Invite on the 9th, or at least I think he is, though maybe he meant this one.
outstanding fields at present and it will be interesting to see if the World Relays and Payton Jordan competitors entered will be sharp or tired (among them, Tully (ran low 15 last weekend) in the 1500m, Vessey, Price in the 800m, Blankenship and Merber in the 1500m, Symmonds in the 800m). Also, Centro in the 800m, Cain in the 1500m, Rupp and Cam in the 5000m, Efraimson in the 800m, among many others.
The fields are this way every year. And every year many of the participants run their PR for the whole year at this meet (which is why the fields are this way every year).
Sarah Brown ran 4:08 at Mount Sac. The race for the last 1500 spot is likely Brown vs. Cain, and how they place is going to be interesting.
Hey Malmo. This is why NOP pulled from Stanford, for sure now.

Why? What does running at this meet have to do with running at Stanford?

Payton Jordan was last week dude.
Stacked field. I see Kara Goucher and Laura Roesler are entered.
There are two Oxy meets in the next week or so. Firstly there's the Oxy Invite this Saturday May 9th. That's primarily a collegiate meet with a sprinkling of pros (English Gardner, Joe Kovacs, Mike Rutt among others) mixed in, and includes every event except the 10k. Flotrack are streaming the meet and heat sheets for that are out on Thursday.
Then there's the Hoka One One Middle Distance Classic (formerly the USATF High Performance Meet at Oxy) on Thursday May 14th. That's the pro meet with the entry lists someone else posted including Galen Rupp, Kara Goucher, Nick Symmonds etc. Heat sheets for that will be out the day before the meet. That meet is being streamed by USATF.tv.
I heard WAC and OTC elites/sub-elites will be at weeks Oxy Invite. Maybe a few WCE and HSI elites as well.

The big star with OTC is Kovacs. He threw a bomb at RJ/JJK a few weeks ago.

In my mind, the Hoka One One meet is the best meet of the year in the US. Better than Pre, Stanford...
Why?
For example, there are 58 guys entered in the 1500 right now. In looking at the list, I can honestly say that I will be interested/care in the results of about 50 of these guys.
At the Pre meet, I might be interested in about 5 guys...
If the one mile race at Pre goes out badly, I lose all interest.
There is no way that all 5 heats at Hoka One One will go out badly...
In addition, the heats feed off each other.
I predict that approx half of the guys racing on May 14th, will end up running their best 1500 of the season on that day...

Right. Should be interesting how Roesler looks in her first pro season. The 800 might be the toughest team to make this year. Wilson, Martinez, Vessey, Price, Montano, Beckwith-Ludlow, Roesler. Wow! Everybody has run under 2:00m, and I'm sure I left someone out.
He is going to break the WR. It may not happen this week, but it is coming.

Efraimson in the 800m
Really happy to see this. I don't think she should be running anything over 3000 / 2-mile in track competition for another year. I think she should take more time to "build the aerobic house" as Canova might say, and stick to mid-d for now. Furthermore, she'll get exposure to great competition in this 800, can't wait to see!
Erin Donohue in the 800! This one surprised me. I think this would be her first track race since 2011.
