I stated a fact. That I would not do the same in his situation. And I'd be interested in taking a survey and determining a percentage of people who would agree with me. I'm guessing it'd be pretty high.
lol eat it, dipshit - this is a message board, not a moron gathering (well, to be fair the two can be difficult to distinguish).
You stated something idiotic. Go ahead and take that survey - pop psychology is pretty popular, I hear. So, you may indeed do well.
who hurt you?

You really can't use slow training runs against him. I've known plenty of 2:20s marathoners who do their easy days around 8min pace.
...
If people are slandering me and claiming a liar, I'm doing everything I can to prove otherwise.
It's not that he runs slow in training, actually he doesn't as 7:50/mile for an 18 mile run for someone shooting for a BQ is very much in line, it's that he doesn't have any evidence that he ever ran fast.
Like you said, if i had nothing to hide I'd show all my data to prove it. I was DQd from Chicago for missing chip splits. The minute I saw the DQ in the preliminary results I sent an e-mail to the RD with my GPS log as well as proof of other, comparable race results. Plus I had photos along the course at all spots. My result was reinstated within a day.
No idea, but my guess is that interest in BQing (and possibly cheating) has spiked since the bombing.
It seems like Rossi didn't even start running until the bombing and perhaps had absolutely no interest before then.
Do why did YOU cheat?
Good point, Cheetah - one reassuring thing to come out of the LR investigation is that Mike Rossi appears to be the only one who cheated at this race, or at least who skipped ALL the photo points. (Someone correct us if this is wrong - there was that husband wife pair pushing the stroller, anything else suspicious like that?)
I wonder what cheating rates are like more generally. For example, do most races have a cheater or two? Or is that rare?

When did you stop beating your wife?
when she left me :(
Can someone post the other Spreadsheet Link that is being worked on? I have this one:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1s0f2sI8FvoD4nFriEngQQXhwBqYbVLq0V5VjI2ARRp4/edit#gid=0
Would like the other one or just add it to the above document.
Thanks all for the hard work you are doing on your respected employers dime!
Friday, May 8th...but looks fairly close.

Every race with more than a few hundred participants will have a few cheaters IF AN OPPORTUNITY IS THERE. Such is human nature. I review my local marathon results for fun, and can find a few suspicious items in each of them.
e.g. recent marathon, there's a 1:58 first half and 1:30 second half. Guess what, there's an out and back in the second half, with a mat at the turnaround point of course. Now guess which mat is missed.
the difference is, few people draw as much scrutiny as Rossi.

There's a link to the race photos spreadsheet in my spreadsheet which is the one you just posted
If Mike Rossi's performance counts, can this guy's performance count as well?

Sara - thanks! Was looking for the one that had all the statistical data. I think that was the one ROJO may have started. Not sure but I think I seen the link back in the 70's of this thread but was wondering if it could get posted again here in the 100's?
Great work, SaraB!
Just curious, what prevents Mike Rossi or his sympathizers from messing with these public spreadsheets?

Plugging that data into standard calorie calculator equates to a weight of 183lbs. Looks about right judging by the photos.

Should be able to calculate time off that as well?

Has cheating really not been a problem though? Or have we just become more aware of it?
I've always questioned those old timers who claim that "back in the day" runners were so much faster - everyone ran under 3 hrs, blah, blah, blah.
So easy to cut a course back then with no chips or photographers.
Wonder how many of those races had people cutting the course.
