I haven't a clue. But "running" should be in quotes. Ask him.....

Spastic nerd! Runs like the dweeb that he is. I am sure that he never played or competed in any sports growing up.
I don't know. I've not been to his facebook or twitter so I don't know how if he has pictures where he looks in better shape, but compared to Via and Boston, despite the bad form, he looks in way better shape. Explains the recent 5k PB.
I would guess he has been working hard to hit the one mark that a lot of people thought was the (relatively) easiest for him to achieve, including Rossi. He's only out there running 5k's. I'm also guessing the phone is because he thought he might be able to do it and wanted proof.
And, he doesn't need the $10k or even want it, all he has to do is prove to the satisfaction of his true believers that he hit one of the marks, and then it's even better if they don't pay out, will just be evidence that everyone was against him and he never cheated.
I do wonder if he's getting any "outside" help. The guy is a cheater with a very serious ego problem... he won't cut the 5k course because he needs to prove he ran the distance - but I don't think he'd have any moral issues utilizing some pharmaceutical aids. It's not like he'd agree to pee in a cup, the guy isn't a big believer in needing to prove he didn't cheat. And, again, in a lot of ways it's better if he makes it and they refuse to pay.
This thread just got way more interesting - I was mostly curious if he'd try to run one of the times, and looks like he is trying. Any 5k runs near Christmas time in Philly?
(Note: for rational people, the fact that he's in much better shape than Via and yet he still can't run a 20 minute 5k is like screaming from the rooftops that he cheated and it's embarrassing. But, he's not trying to convince rational people, he's just trying to convince people who really want to believe him.)
There is no doubt that he physically looks in better shape than he did when this whole fiasco and Via took place. I saw him recently around town (passed within inches of him) and he looked surprisingly in good shape. His running mechanics do not appear to be something that could be corrected as I believe that is the way he has always run likely to do something physical that he has no ability to control, especially at his age. Its bio-mechanical. It is not like he can tweak this or that as in a golf swing or throwing motion.
I do wholeheartedly agree with your Note about screaming from the rooftops and that he had has tweeny phone in case he did the improbable.
There are a lot of 5K's coming up in and around the Philly area.

Haha, what a goose, or should that be duck?
He's carrying the phone cos it's the one with the tracking device on it, you know, same as he carried at LeHigh and was going to release to prove he ran the whole course. He wants to do the same here so he can claim the dollars off the Brojos, just one little problem though...

No way would I want to hand over cash to someone like him without proper drug testing, ego maniacs like him are prepared to go to any lengths so why shouldn't the Brojos.
I agree. Our Mike Rossi just isn't as trustworthy as he might want you to believe.
But I also think that the increased page views and notoriety would offset much of the $10,000.
But as we get closer to the end of the year, maybe those in the Philly area should jump into the 5Ks and pace good and honest Mike so he doesn't turn around too early. He isn't the brightest.
Still in the game, baby.
And it's good to see our tough talking hero is protecting those fabulous orange hair plugs from the cold and wind and those shifty eyes with the shades, even though there's not a ray of sunshine around, apart from him of course.
Mike,
Seriously get someone to help you with your form. If you try and run 50mpw like that you will end up hurt. I am not trying to troll you, ask a serious coach if you don't believe me.
That would take some serious work and dedication. It's far easier to cheat than worry about these hobby-jogger concerns. Mike needs help but not along these lines.

I do have to say that the weather on that day, specifically, the wind, was absolutely brutal. In fact, I had contemplated running that race (the 10k though) but had a conflict which required me to still be outside at various sporting events and remember think that I was damn glad that I had not signed up to run as I hate wind more than any other weather element, bar none. Does that mean I think he could have gone below 20 minutes, hell no!
Maybe in 5 weeks, on a flatter course, better pacing + drafting, less wind, and with more training after his injury? Wouldn't surprise me.
He honestly looks like a 3:11 marathoner now so I'm assuming he's been putting in some miles. But unfortunately for him bad form like that gets exposed over the course of 26.2 miles. It just looks so unnatural, you'd have to think that it can be tweaked just a little. Mike the previous poster gave you good advice, clean up the form or you will get injured badly.
The only parts of Rossi's anatomy that are a problem for running are his heart and backbone.

I must respectfully disagree. I think he looks like a 3:32 marathoner now, which is about what this 5k time translates to... assuming he actually ran this time.

No way. First, he is 48 years old or so. Guys that age who run 3:11 look like actual runners. Rossi does not look like a runner.
He looks like a weekend warrior type guy who shows up for local 5Ks and improperly lines up on the front line with the high school kids.
Another thing, he runs like he is trying to hold in a dump, so maybe he hasn't figured out a good pre-race routine.
Maybe he started listening.

I'm sorry, but this guy looks like he could break 3:11. I don't care about the splay. Some of the best marathoners have splays. this guy might be cashing in
plenty of elites have piss poor form. this guy looks legit period. powerful plant, high knees, great elbows, strong core, good head position.
Mike Rossi – â€@mikerossi22
For those who think I haven't "put in the miles", I averaged 140 miles per month since July 2014 (except for May-August 2015 while injured)
8:05 PM - 18 Nov 2015 from Pennsylvania, USA
He tweeted this last night and has since deleted it. If it's true (which is a relative thing in Rossi's world), he's not going to run 3:11, that's for sure.

Why don't you just leave the piss poor trolling to SmartRunnr?
when you can't think of anything intelligent to write, just accuse someone of trolling.

you are right - 140 miles a week will not yield 3:11 results. not possible
