If I were putting $10k on the line, I would've def stipulated whether a net downhill course qualifies or not. I am not a lawyer, but I would've probably been a bit more specific about the conditions of the challenge. Something as simple as "the challenge is to break 20:00 for a flat 5k course, 19:30 for a net downhill 5k course" or whatever.
Our tough talking hero Mike would just get his retired AOL lawyer Grandpa Grimes on to the Brojos. It worked the first time with them until called Ken called his bluff and they realized they'd been had, so, on second thoughts, perhaps Grimesy is out. Mike would have to go upmarket and the cost plus chance of loss would make it financially unviable. All speculation though and good fun at his expense cos we all know he'll never do it, downhill or flat.
