When it comes to lawyering up you've gotta give Ken credit, when Rossi lawyered up and got his pal grandpa Grimes to send him a cease and desist letter it just fired Ken up even more. He did his research, called his bluff and went for it. One up to Ken on that one.

What are the 5k and 26.2 PRs of everybody here?
Hi Mike. (I've missed saying that).
For our PR listings, should we include actual times or can we include cheating times, too. (I finished a 5K in under 4 minutes once).
Don't forget the "reporter" Ken said was going to write the story was actually his former mother-in-law. And this website needed to investigate and give her the info. Because that is how articles are written.

Why?

Just general interest.
I've noticed that the types of posts on LR tend to correlate somewhat with running abilities.
If you don't really wanna volunteer then no worries, just don't know why insults and accusations need to be thrown out there (EZPassMike).
An important detail of this 5K seems to have been overlooked...
He obviously had to use a pseudonym to avoid any conflict of interest suspicions while running away with that coveted age group victory.
And I'm guessing your 26.2 PR is?
3:11:45
I'll bite, didn't start running until I was 40. 19:33 5K, 3:38 Marathon
No driving was involved Mike.

Aww another accusation. How cute.
Nope. Mine is better than Mike's fake one: 2:58:XX (but that was 3 years ago and peaked well for that race). Not fast by LR standards.
5K is a bit better (17:42). I am a bigger guy so mile 20 hits me pretty hard. Not a huge fan of the 26.2 (unlike Mr. Ross)
Since I answered and you didn't, anybody else? Are you guys ashamed or something? Most letsrunners fall over themselves to brag.
Is everyone sure he actually registered using the wrong name at that 5k? I've noticed most local races without online registration typically misspell some names. Dropping the "i" wouldn't be unusual.
19:33/3:36:59 for reference.

That 5k starting after 40 is damn respectable. Sub 20 is a great feeling for us non-college runners.

Nice.
And knowing how narcissistic he is I am sure he would have thrown a fit if it had been spelled wrong.
The fact that he refused to name the race to begin with is shady.
Ya know ESPN interviews folks during the race that are along the spectators, if we could get someone on TV who made a reference to Ole Mike's cheating
That would be epic!
Fair enough. I'll take back the accusation.
Started running at 46 I'm now 50. 3:16:04 and 18:49.
When things start to go really bad on here for Mike, a poster (often "new") will show up to distract from the topic, and specifically make the thread about the poster rather than about Mike. Often requesting personal information. Then, when the poster either complies or refuses, out comes the abuse.
A 24 minute 5k is still a warm up run or recovery jog for me, but that doesn't mean a 24 minute run isn't a great day out for someone else - it's just specifically not for someone who can run a 3:11 marathon. More importantly, what anyone else can run has nothing at all to do with Mike cheating, lying and distorting his "accomplishments". It's just distraction.

Ummm ... I really don't see the point.

It seems like everybody who has posted their times is pretty close to what Ross' claimed PR is (and similar in age).
I think its interesting because I have a theory that people who are winning races (15min / 2:30hours) probably don't care much about Rossi (amused - yes), and then there are probably people who are over 25min/ 4hours and don't fully appreciate what Mike is claiming he did.
Keep it coming.

I don't think what I'm asking is offensive and you can just ignore the question.
It seems like there are plenty of other non-running topics being discussed about Mike and this is a running site.
Just interested.
