Ghost of Future sees:
Less than 6 months after the 3:11 controversy started it went into a hibernation for 3 years. Against all odds the thread was kept alive by the apparently disturbed and obsessive posting of one Philadelphian who still cared about integrity. Ironically not a runner, this lone holdout worked long hours as a wedding DJ and videographer to support himself and his quest, while many runners turned their attention elsewhere and back to the world. Derided for his Nazi and confederate sympathies and as a crazy obsessive with a Philadelphia high school education, he kept the thread alive and with it the eventual hope that justice would prevail.
After 3 years even he gave up for awhile and then he hit rock bottom. He started running first a day a week then every day and so on. After a while he slimmed down, developed friends, social networks and a healthy happy life. He made peace with people and even with big Mike. They ran together, drank together, and talked about good old Philly. They DJ'd each other's kids weddings so the other could just enjoy it. They teamed up to form an entertainment conglomerate that eventually provided 70% of all cable wedding related programming worth billions.
Finally at a group retreat Kenny pulled Mike aside and admitted jealousy had ruled his early days and he now was inclined to believe the 3:11 was legit. Mike pulled Kenny aside and confessed to cheating on the 3:11. Kenny paused and was heartbroken. Kenny wandered aimlessly for a fee days.
Returning home Kenny walked in on his wife Cecily and Mike together. Mike just smiled at him. Cecily blushed a bit embarrassed.
Why!? Kenny wailed.
Cecily said because he is faster than you. Mike said because I can.
He cheated the 3:11 cried Kenny.
Cecily shrugged her shoulders and said tell it to Greg or someone who cares.
Kenny walked out to his local library and sat down to post again, but he couldn't find the thread. Letsrun was gone.
Kenny put his head in his hands and wept.
What was it all for?!!!!
