Did Mike Rossi (viral marathon dad) cheat his way into Boston?

I don't care what they say Ken, you've provided a lot more entertainment on this thread then all the rest of them put together.

I mean, really ... would this thread have survived this long if all we had were "real runners" posting about how we know Mike cheated and we're outraged because it undermines the integrity of running races?

I admit it ... I'm a runner (well, a hobby jogger by LRC standards) ... and the only reason I'm still interested in this is because Mike is such a tool. Cheaters are a dime a dozen and while I'd like to see all of them DQ'ed, I don't spend my life worrying about the impact on the sport.

Is that dark shirt he's wearing a Boston shirt? I can't see the unicorn so the jury is still out. In other news, it's pretty sad that a 47 year old man has a picture of himself in front of the Kenny Chesney/Corona Light Tour Bus as his cover photo. Was the Toby Keith/Busch Light Bus not available?

To the Real Mike Rossi,

You claim that you ran the entire race at LVHN ViaMarathon . You further claimed and boasted that you have photos and other supplemental evidence that supports you ran the entire 26.2 miles of the course. However, in spite of your proclamation that you have such items, you refuse to share them, which speaks volumes about the veracity of your claim, your integrity and your sportsmanship. Saying that you have such things does not make it true. What makes it true is to share that information to the running community; the community that you think you are a part of. Certainly there is a risk that people may not believe what you show them, but will you be any worse off than you are now? I think not because no one (but except perhaps your minions and trolls) believes you now. Even the Committee did not believe you and said as much in their statement by never stating that they believe that you ran the race or that your time was accurate.

However, it appears that the LVHN Committee has some "conclusive" evidence that your time is inaccurate or you did not run the entire race! How do I know that? They said it when in their statement, they said,

"Therefore the LVHN Via Marathon Committee concluded that Rossi will not be disqualified unless additional conclusive information arises in the future."

The phrase "unless additional conclusive information…" assumes that they already have some conclusive information, otherwise they would have said "unless conclusive information arises in the future."

In addition, they did not say that they have pictures of you on the course. Why didn't they say that they believed that you ran the race, that they have pictures of you on the course, or make any positive attribution whatsoever towards you? It is quite obvious why - because they could not make such a statement since they could not support such a statement. They certainly didn't want to be caught in the same web of lies that you have attempted perpetuate. You think you are part of the running community. But you know nothing, Mike Rossi. You are not part of the running community. You are an outcast as a result of your own decisions, petulance and hubris. You are however part of the community of cheaters or alleged cheaters and confirmed liars.

Everyone, with the exception of your minions and trolls, knows that the only reason that you won't provide these phantom photos and other "evidence" that you claim to have is because it does not exist or it does not show anything, or at least they don't show you on the course, except perhaps at the starting line and finish line .

Moreover, you lied when you said that you were provided US Candids photos by the LVHN Committee that did not make US Candids' "final cut." How do I know that? I have an email from US Candids saying that all photos were posted on their website. You lied, yet again. You cannot deny that you are liar.

So Mike Rossi, the proverbial balls are in your court. Stop playing with them and show us the photos and other information. What have you got to lose? Your credibility? I think not.

While that post was too wordy for my tastes, he is right on one thing - there is almost nothing that Mike Rossi could do that would lower my opinion of him further (in regards to running, I'm not talking about criminal acts and such)

If Rossi attempted to release obviously photoshopped pics of him on the course? This would not lower my opinion of him. My opinion is that Rossi would have already done this if he thought he could get away from it.

If Rossi admits that he cheated? My opinion of him would actually increase in this scenario. So few people ever truly, 100% come clean (think drug cheats) when busted. It would be refreshing if Rossi actually did. Just totally spelled out every detail of marathon day. Would make a fascinating read.

What is more likely, however, is that Rossi will continue to act like a 15 year old. Posting anonymously here. Changing his Facebook profile pic to "send a message". Throwing a school principal under the bus to feed his own ego. Making way-over-the-top videos of himself.

For all of the posters who are foaming at your mouths for a national media article on this topic be careful what you wish for . The focus of any such article would not be about the cheating accusation, but instead pages of psycho analytics from psychologists of the phenomena of why human behavior can be so easily manipulated as if you are all pavlova's dogs just by 1 person trolling 6 others .
