Did Mike Rossi (viral marathon dad) cheat his way into Boston?

That's okay. I'd rather be concerned with my running and not someone I don't even know. I'll let you kids have your fun.

What's strange about these serial cheaters is the effort they will go through to make personal exceptions for themselves. Contact the principal, work out an absence plan in 5 minutes and the principal signs off. No. Too hard. Instead, they take 10x the time to pile carefully worded nonsense together and invite disaster.

It's fun to watch.

I just hope he is able to recover in time for the Chicago Marathon. That course suits him well. I smell a 2:10 marathon.

He's won because he's achieved what he set out to achieve and you idiots can't prove otherwise because there is no evidence past, now or in the future to disprove him (and I bet calling him "Rosie Rossi" really worries him, grow up). That's why he has a ligit LVM time recorded and legit Boston time recorded and you can go on ad infinitum with all the other stuff about his kids, school principal, he's a douche, etc, etc, but it won't change those facts. He's got the better of you, he's smarter than you, he has sucessful businesses, life goes on.

I sadly agree with you. He isn't worried about this. In fact, he loves the attention. That said, I'm sure those close to him (the ones Ken attacked - I won't) have to be slightly embarrassed by the entire episode. And I'm sure Mike doesn't care that they are embarrassed.

The only real winners here are the BroJos for all of the clicks on their site.

The only loser is Mike Rossi. A lot of people waste time every day, it's no big deal, and no matter what happened, it really wouldn't change any one else's life. The marathon will go on and will be better now that they are taking steps to Rossi-proof the course. But, Mike Rossi will never get away from people all around him knowing he's a cheat. Even the people who would say to him they believe him, they don't. It's so painfully obvious he cheated, it's sad. It can't have been worth it to become famous for being a cheater. Maybe he didn't have much respect to begin with, but he's got none now.

MR may have his BQ but he is no winner. If/when he runs another race and comes nowhere near 3:11 that will just confirm his cheating to everyone. I doubt he is even registered for Chicago but if he does run any more marathons he will always be injured, sick, blah blah blah.

Probably never run another marathon. Or a least the entire 26.2.

Mike, if you feel you've won and you are not worried, then why do you keep posting on this forum? Why do you even read it, Mike?

By the way, DQ or no, your times will never be "legit". You cheated at LVM and you qualified for Boston under false pretenses. You know this and we know this. The vast majority of your friends and co-workers know this. Those that pretend to believe you are just playing along with your stories in order to save you further embarrassment. Remember that, Mike, next time you are wearing one of your 15 Boston jackets. Every person that sees you wearing it and knows your story is either pitying you or silently laughing at you. No one respects you. No one is impressed by what you did.

Good job, Mike, best case scenario is that you've been an object of pity. But mostly, everyone in your life will be mocking you and you can never wear your Boston gear without dredging all this back up in their minds. You can never have a public twitter, facebook, or blog about running without endless comments about your cheating. That must kill an egotistical attention hound like yourself.

Congrats Mike, that's quite a victory.
