He kept his Superbowl ring.

The big difference is Brady most likely would have won regardless if he cheated or not. Mike Rossi on the other hand, had no chance for a BQ without cheating!
Are you really saying that what Mr. Rossi (allegedly) did was worse than what Tom Brady did?
The equivalents assume adequate training. So obviously, a marathon is a lot more work to take on.
Equivalent but ... wrote:
Regarding Rojo's offer of $10K to Mike if he can run under a certain time for marathon or 10 miler or 5K ...
I understand that the 20:00 5K is "equivalent", but isn't it a more doable feat to improve your 5K time in a year versus improving to an "equivalent" marathon time in a year? I'm not sure if Mike was able to run 20:00 in a 5K in a year that it would make me think he possibly ran 3:11:45.
Am I wrong?

In the context of the activity they were doing, why yes, I am. Rossi completely cut the course to achieve his goal, BQ. Brady (or members of his staff) deflated balls, to give him an edge, but he still had to play the complete game.

No, but it's definitely worse than what Peter Brady did-- threw a football and broke Marsha Brady's nose. I mean, it was an accident, sure, but still, he broke his own stepsister's nose!
But I'm sure they both learned more in those 15 seconds than an entire year in school! They learned Physics. They learned Anatomy. They learned Communications, or lack of. And they watched Marsha overcome such huge barriers to triumph, with all of her hard training. Surely, this deserves a week off from school.

Brady had the potential to win the game, deflated balls or not, Rossi did not have the ability to BQ.

I see what you did there. Nice work.

You retard!
It was all Marcia's fault. She wandered outside, not paying attention, with her panties all wet from talking on the phone with Doug Simpson (the big man on campus). And instead of paying attention to the hazards and horseplay that come with having a backyard covered in AstroTurf™, she was thinking about how good Doug's big, throbbing school ring would feel on the chain around her neck when he took her to the next school dance.
The moral of the story is to think with your head at all times - even when something suddenly comes up.

Wow what a sick freak!!!
Sicko.
If we can't get the morons at Lehigh Valley Marathon to change their mind, what's our action plan? Maybe have a Protest at the start and finish of this race next year? Heck maybe we lets runners here can hold a training run and run exactly Mike Rossi's time of 3:11 on the course during the race holding our hands together with a message on our t-shirts. What d'ya say men? Are you with me?

I am going to rent a limo bus and charge $30 a head to drive runners to the finish line. I figure we can make 3 trips and make some mad cash.
I'm also going to see souvenir t-shirts - exact replicas of the one that Rossi and the Rossi Posse wore in Boston. (Go, Daddy, Go!)
I'll have some overpriced water and soft pretzels to sell on the bus. The "in-flight" entertainment will be Mike's triumphant and inspiring Philly-To-Boston mini movie that he made upon his victorious return to the city that he loves. Complete with a soundtrack by Dropkick Murphys and a heartfelt reading of Teddy Roosevelt's speech "Citizenship in a Republic".
I think it's going to be a huge tourist attraction that I may be able to license and franchise in different cities as Rossi cheats his way across the country. When is the Chicago Marathon? I need to plan for my retirement.
"Pulling a Mike Rossi" has entered the running lexicon. That is your legacy, Mike and there is nothing that you can do to change that. Unless you come clean (which you will never do). Congrats!
What are you going to do? Sue them? LMAO
With the (sort of) publication of Rojo's article, I am now on the side of those who say it's time to move on.
While Mike appears to continue to be combative and unrepentant, let's face it, he did not get away with it. Put yourself in his shoes ... despite what he may pretend to show on the outside, inside he knows that many, many people know he's a cheat. And of course he knows he's a cheat and that can't be a good feeling either -- to publicly praise yourself for doing something you know you didn't actually do must be pretty unsatisfying even to him.
I've kind of begun to almost feel sorry for him.
I concur. Most people have moved on. If not for the three or four people bent on ruining his personal and professional life over this and the trolls, this thread would have died a long time ago.

I agree, its time to begin focusing on Pat Huffman who appears to be a serial cheater and still doing it. Rossi cheated once because he was desperate to get into Boston. Huffman is a long time runner who all of decided she didn't want to run 2 hour halves and with each cheat she's getting more and more ballsy with how much time she cuts off the course.
I don't know. I really think the only way Mike Rossi will be DQd is if we continue the pressure in the running community, the Lehigh Valley marathon, BAA and others.
Additionally, maybe this keeps the next "Rossi" from "Rossiing" a race.
Agreed. Mike Rossi and the LVM RD would love nothing more than for the public outcry to die down. And those are two people who most certainly should not be getting what they want. Carry on.
