I love this one--dude cheated, and pulled a hammy (or so it appears) and missed his BQ.

I just find it funny that after all the serious track and field news this site has reported with less than average writing and constant clerical and factual errors, you all think it matters how they portray a guy cheating to a 3+ hour marathon.
It matters because rojo and others hope it will get picked up by main stream media and go viral, that won't happen if it comes across as being written by a 12 year old. Surely you of all people can comprehend that.

Maybe if he writes it in comic sans it will come off as professional.
It won't go viral because of the timing. But I applaud that he's apparently going to come out and say he cheated--and not dance around it.
It could go viral if it's well written and done in the format of an open letter to Mike Rossi IMO.
Long weekend coming up, anyone want to put together that video of the continous photos? I'll help, looking for best place to dump the photos though.

Letsrun is like that weird friend you love that you get slightly embarrased of in public, and feel that you have to prep people for before they meet them. And inside you're thinking, "if you knew them like I do you'd understand".
Sometimes I forget that I'm not the only person who has had this experience.
Recently my field was rocked by report of a fraud by a pretty prominent researcher
http://www.politico.com/story/2015/05/science-retraction-gay-marriage-views-fake-data-118131.html?hp=l3_4and I wanted to refer people to Mike Rossi before I realized no one knew who he was. He should be a household name for being a BSer.

As sad as this post is, I'm sure he will get a volunteer.
Jesus, BAW - get a life.
Go buy a 30 pack of cheap beer, go out into your backyard, and take 3 days to forget about your weird obsession with a guy who cheated in a backwater marathon 8 months ago.

So I guess there's no hope of it going viral.
Restage the race and put it on youtube

Oh s#!+.
By being in this thread with you, I just violated my parole.
I asked a week ago and got no responses. Every "timelapse photograph" has eeaaaasy ways to make a video once he has the pictures. It is a simple matter of just downloading the pictures, making small adjustments for nonconsecutive seconds and running 2 or 3 commands.
I did not participate in the original hunt so I did not even know which website the pictures are at.
People talked about "rolls at a bridge" or such.
Do you know the exact URL of these?
Ideally the "guy who wrote a script" just downloads them. And runs ffmpeg or similar on them. It is ridiculously easy.
what's this obssesion of making a video from still images? Usually you go the other way to analyze frame by frame? You can't get new information from a video

Millions of views of timelapse photography prove you utterly wrong.
And in this special case his whole defense will come crashing down. I don't understand why a video was not done do far, because it visualizes in layman's grasp what runners know about "no pics on the course".

It's about making it clear that he didn't cross that point. You can say that he was missed by a photographer. but if you put the pictures together to make a video it would be clear that he could not have been missed.
This is how easy it is:
