This thread has gone to some dark and weird places, sometimes interesting, but most often just strange, however, this new desperation to get a response out of Mike Rossi by addressing directly and blaming his wife? It's not healthy. For your own well being, I think it's time people just let this go. If you don't think Mike Rossi has been punished for cheating, Google his name. He has had more damage done to himself and his reputation than any marathon cheater in history. If anything new arises (like his getting arrested), by all means, post away, but otherwise I think it's time for a new hobby.
No, I am not Mike Rossi.
Hi all - I heard about Mike's arrest and court fiasco recently so I thought I'd catch up on the thread again. I have to say I laughed very hard at that podcast. I know that like me, many of you think that there will be no closure and no apologies, but from what I'm hearing there may be a glimpse of hope. He's been walking around looking quite depressed and as expected with volatile and defensive behavior. Word is he broke down and came clean to one of his last remaining friends. As a non-runner I can't help but laugh at how ridiculous this all is... he tore apart his life because of his embellished ego and cheating at a race, but is definitely paying a much higher price than needed because he can't do the right thing now. I think the pressure and lies have completely consumed him and he's finally got no choice but to realize his life is upside down. I don't know if and how he's been able to sleep at night but I think he is starting to go into salvage mode. I'm doubtful there will ever be a public aplogy (won't want the haters to win) but you never know. I'll be lurking...
