Given that the original $100K challenge was newsworthy, so is the lack even a response to the $100,000/$200,000 challenge. Any "regular" reader of these forums could run a marathon at a pace 30 seconds per mile slower than their recent "PR" within a year, easily. It would be the equivalent of a faster paced, slight longer, weekly long training run. Especially for $100,000.
Mike is just that stupid that he doesn't smart realise how embarrassing his excuses are for not going out there and getting the $200,000. Even if he doesn't "need" the $100,000, how do you explain refusing to give $100,000 of someone else's money to charity? And then he goes out to do other charity runs? Which is it. do you care about charity or not? The only thing that doesn't make him look stupid for not getting that $100k for charity is admitting that he could never run a 3:11. Instead he doubles down on humiliation time and time again.
There is no way tiny mike has learned any sort of lesson though all of this. You can bet that if he can let this all die down long enough, until he believes he's no longer being watched, he'll eventually be cheating at some local race to help maintain his story that he can run a 3:11. I think everyone would be happy to never hear about Mike Rossi again, but people don't change, for sure that fool will be back.
