The race started on time at 7:10. Rossi probably either mistimed or was too overzealous in making sure he made the cutoff. There's a photo of him before the start of the race at the start line.
what photo before the start line? did I miss something in the previous 2500 posts?
Tights and a hydration belt for a race?!

He took a selfie before the race started, because of course.

He took a selfie before the race started, before off course.
Adjusted.

Yawn, we had this ad nauseam in the Kip Litton threads, basically the motivatons of these people seems to be
1. The perperator themselves trying hopelessly to derail things.
2. Friends of the above who don't understand the issues.
3. The worst of the lot, people who do understand and know the perpetrator cheated but somehow feel righteous indignation in the whole "casting the first stone" crap.
If there is general acceptance or "so what?" about cheating, what point is there in being honest?
I started at the beginning of the thread, then after a few pages, I went directly to about five pages from the end, skipping everything in between, but pretending I read it all.
So is he running Chicago? If so he should get an honor guard LRC escort

Good idea, but that would be impossible. No one here is physically capable of running slower than 2:30.
I know someone on here knows the entire thread inside and out and can provide the following service and keep me from having to look through 125 pages...
I would like to read the Sockpuppet posts. On what pages and under what names is it generally agreed that we can find posts from the subject of the thread? (ie: category 1 from above...the perpetrator trying to derail things)
Thank you

Around 30-35
So this guy is a DJ for weddings? I can only take so much Bon Jovi and White Snake.
Bad Wigins, calling this a torch and pitchfork mob implies all kinds of motives that I don't agree apply here... at least not yet. The vast majority of people here want to see a DQ and an admission of guilt. They believe that the stats and photographic evidence absolutely prove Rossi cheated, and they feel, understandably, a deep outrage at that. I would think that anyone who values (instead of giving lip service to) honesty, integrity, and respect for hard work would feel the same. There are people who run endless miles and know they will never achieve a BQ. There are people who achieved a BQ, or know someone who did, and yet did not make the cut. Can't you understand how galling it is to think of someone not only cheating their way into that race, but then trumpeting themselves as a hero and a role model? A lot of posters here doubt the admission is ever coming from Mr. Rossi, but they are damned if there isn't going to be a DQ. I admit, I'm a little uneasy about what happens after that. Some people will see the DQ as sufficient justice; others will want that pound of flesh, and there could be outliers who will cross a line to get it. It might be useful, while we're waiting around anyway, to talk about what will happen after the DQ is accomplished. Personally I imagine it will have a lot to do with how Rossi reacts. If he admits it, it will go best for him; if he shuts up, it will at least die down more quickly. However, if he tries, as I suspect he will, to characterize himself as a heroic victim or internet jealousy... well, that could go less well.
One point I haven't seen is how did he do it. It seems planned based on no social media fanfare and the other red flags...but beside the one section that cuts off, any ideas on what went down? Perhaps since I never considered cheating I'm oblivious as to how one plans to leave a course and get back on without getting popped. Perhaps a crime of opportunity.
Apologies if this was discussed earlier.
As an aside, I have been wondering how many new regulars LRC ends up with after a situation involving a link to the site being included in hundreds of news stories. Once this crap dies down, some of the more unstable might stick around.
I'm just hoping it won't be the 733 people in this thread who felt the need to post their useless marathon PRs, age, training logs, and anything else no one cares about. :)
Warning: If you aren't a basement-dwelling millionaire with a smoking-hot wife and an OT-qualifier time in a standard distance (who runs on pure hate), there might be some assimilation issues.
Yeah, I just want him to:
1) be DQ'd from the bogus 3:11 marathon.
2) be DQ'd (and possibly banned, up to the BAA) from Boston, since he didn't legitimately qualify.
3) not be allowed entry to other marathons (Chicago, NYC?) based on the bogus 3:11 marathon.
4) get it out loud & clear in the public domain the facts about this guy's cheating. A little public shaming, if you will.
I don't want or care about a public apology. Knowing people of his ilk, any apology would most likely be meaningless anyway.
Oh, and get the 2015 Boston medal, jacket, & shirts back. If he doesn't willingly give them back, I'm fine taking them back. That would be justice, not theft. He can keep his prized 2014 Boston clothing, lolz.
I figure this guy is not a real runner. He started getting into it recently and thought he just HAD to run Boston, but when he realized how difficult it is, he found a way to cheat his way in, and figured it was a victimless "crime".
But being the narcissist that he is, he couldn't keep his yap shut and brought attention to himself, and was eventually outed as Douche of the Year.

I think it's fine to out a cheater. Keeps the sport honest.
I think it's pathetic to spend time coming up with memes that depend on the sort of insults that most of us outgrew by 10th grade.
Paul, let me ask you a question: do you have kids? If so, do you think they'd be proud of a dad who gets pleasure from slinging words like "douche" in order to get a snicker from the mob?

Has not been discussed, has not been discovered. This twist should add at least another 400 pages to this wonderful thread and will give everyone here no reason to go outside today.
We just want justice.
