Mike is smart enough (I think) to know that if he confessed, this would be over in a week or two. But it continues to drag on because he is a 13 year girl. (note: apologies to 13 year old girls)
I was thinking there is probably only one person who can save Mike from himself and that person is the incompetent Barb McKeever. But she is too weak and lacks the will to do the right thing, only the easy thing.
There is only one person who can save Mike and that is Mike. It is no different than an alcoholic or drug addict in some regards in that you can't be saved or helped until you, in this case Mike, admits you have a problem, did something wrong, or need and want help. Until then, no one can do anything.
If Barb were to DQ him right now, he has two choices. He could either accept it, admit it, apologize and ask for forgiveness or he could continue maintaining that he ran the race (maintain he has pictures and proof that no one has ever seen but him) and begin attacking Barb like he has so cowardly done to others. My guess he does not have the integrity or moral fiber to accept a DQ and try to leverage a DQ to his benefit but instead .continue the charade, attacks and buffoonery. Of course, if he were DQ'd and he choose option 2, then he certainly would be in the running to being the first two-time Biggest Loser in Philadelphia.
