I'm looking for a lightweight trainer to rotate with the Pegasus 31. I was looking at the Kinvara 6, Fresh Foam Zante, and Launch 2. Was wondering if anyone could give their thoughts on any of these shoes.
Thanks

All of the trainers you selected are great. Let's break em down:
Kinvara: 4mm drop (which you'll notice), same weight as the Zante, most firm feel.
Fresh Foam Zante: 6mm drop, same weight as Kinvara, softest feel, still responsive.
Launch: 10mm drop (similar to your Peg 31's), heaviest (9.8 oz), most durable.
Similarities: All responsive, all flexible, all quality, great customer reviews.
Bottom Line: Go out and try each of them on, you won't go wrong with whatever you choose.
Source: Work in running specialty.
I don't know about the Fresh Foam Zante, but the other 2 are both pretty soft.
The Brooks Launch is more of a traditional trainer with most of the support stripped away. They don't feel super fast to me because of how soft they are. I'm somehow able to handle high mileage in a neutral trainer despite having pretty flat feet, and the Launch is one of the only neutral shoes that accommodates my lack of arch well. There is also a decent amount of room in the toe box--very useful if your foot spreads a lot on impact.
The Kinvara is a lot lower volume. The arch of the shoe wasn't right for me. The forefoot and midfoot were too narrow. The 4mm drop will take a lot of getting used to and could get you injured if you aren't careful.
Another shoe you might want to look at is the Nike Zoom Elite. It is firmer than any of the others and weighs 9 oz. It has a pretty fast feel, in my opinion.
I second the zoom elite. Have been using them for mile repeats (4:50s), tempos (5:20s), and even faster long runs (5:40-6) and it feels great at all those speeds. Don't like to use it for much faster or slower though.
