I had never heard of Browning Ross until my local paper mentioned this today. Does anyone else in the LR community know this guy's story?

Browning Ross is considered the Father of American Distance Running because of his long time involvement with road running, publishing an early running newsletter and starting the RRCA.

The title does not come from what he did as a runner, which in itself was very good. It comes from what he did for the development of distance running in the US.
Happy Birthday Browning Ross.
Your efforts on behalf of all runners will never be forgotten, and are especially remembered on your birthday.
We could use another person like you today with vision and love of the sport to ensure that running stays accessible to everyone.
