Who else agrees that Flotrack should ban Gordon Mack from announcing?
1. He can't pronounce names
2. He doesn't effectively convey what is happening
3. He tries to turn every race into the Solinsky 10k
4. He isn't funny even though he tries
5. He commentates pro races and doesn't have an accurate knowledge base to even provide current information about the participants.
6. His voice is not commentator friendly
Who else agrees?
how is this different from anyone at Flotrack? Their production is getting better, their announcing still remains as amateur as it gets. I think that's the point, though.
Why hire someone that is horrible at announcing?! Did they even have him "show his stuff" before offering him the job?
It's the minor leagues of announcing. What do you expect?
If I watched some college swim meet on the internet I wouldn't expect good announcing. Then again I don't pay for Flotrack so that is the difference. If I paid $20 to watch a swim meet I would be pissed if the announcing was not good.
They really need to stop using a 5 year old cellphone to film meets and invest in a real camera.

This is my first time posting on this website after perusing it for almost a decade. I cant stand Gordon Mack. He thinks he is funny and quirky but he every time he opens his mouth regarding the sport of track and field, there is an automatic face palm. He resembles the Pillsbury Dough Boy who just mainlined a gram of estrogen. I hope he resigns from his position or Track and Field will lose 100% of its 2% female demographic.

On the plus side, he is not Larry Rawson, Carole Lewis, Lewis Johnson or pretty much any of the other ESPN track announcers.

That was brutal at the end of that 4xmile. He was just screaming and every other word was "ladies and gentlemen." He also can't interview anyone without using "talk about" as part of his phrasing. Just absolutely terrible.
I am here to defend Gordon Mack. Yes, he is not a classically trained commentator, I will give you that. But you cannot fake his enthusiasm, he is sincere and that cannot be taught. he is also funny, check out his stand-up. I don't know about you but if that doesn't make you laugh I don't know what will.
That stand-up is absolutely awful...
