10,000/7,000,000,000=.00014285%
Do they really WANT to run at that pace for a full 26.2, or do they simply want to?
The amount of runners is certainly less than 7 billion. If we define runners as individuals who consistently run more than 10 miles a week then maybe 1% of the population? I actually have no idea however I suspect that the percentage of all runners that can run a marathon faster than 6 min/mile average is definitely much less than 1%. However if we go with the above assumptions then:10000/70,000,000=0.014285%

I thought I read somewhere that sub-3 hours was roughly the top 1% of marathoners. So, for simplicity, let's just define anyone that finishes a marathoner a "runner".
In Boston, 187 people finished at 6:00 pace or faster. 2639 runners finished at sub-3. So, this is not scientific at all, but if sub-3 runners are the top 1%, then sub 2:37 runners are the top 0.07%.

lol
Totally useless information:
If we assume .00014% of the population, then the equivalent IQ score (using a mean of 100 and SD of 15) would yield a "running IQ score" of:
170
Assuming .0014%, then the equivalent IQ would be:
163
Assuming .014%. . .
154
So any way you put it, this feat is pretty impressive.
