This morning after my run I took a hot shower -- hotter than usual. After roughly 10 mins of being in the shower i started to feel dizzy so i turned off the water and got out immediately. Took in some gatorade and a banana because I thought, "maybe it's my electrolyte levels." It should be noted that, just before the hot shower, I had ice bags on my calves for 15 minutes. I've heard that extreme temperature changes can bring about dizziness and whatnot, but I didn't think ice bags on those relatively small isolated spots of my body could make that happen. Hm?
I keep a nutrition log every day, so all throughout the day I've been keeping track of my grams of carbs, total calories, iron, potassium, sodium, etc. Everything seems to be okay. My hydration is okay. I get about 8 hours of sleep on average. My resting heart rate is normal. My brain function is normal as far as I can tell (took a final exam and went through a day of classes just fine).
Despite normalities across all those variables, the dizziness comes back sometimes when I tilt my head a certain way or look directly up for an extended period of time. It also seems to be present when I look down and close my eyes at the same time. Very odd.
If it's still there after a good night's sleep, I may consider going to a doctor.
Thoughts? Diagnosis?
