In honor of Earth Day, POTUS Obama takes a trip to the Everglades in Florida. In the process, he burns an estimated 9,000 gallons of fuel, presumably on AirForce 1 and the associated motorcade from the airport to the location of the speech.
Does the benefit of "raising awareness" to the plight of the earth justify the increased carbon emissions? Could the speech have been just as effective given from the White House lawn?
