unEFFINbelievable the way minorities are treated in America.
Why shouldn't he take a vacation on his own dime wherever he chooses to go? Has he been found guilty in a court of law? Is he a threat to flee?
Who cares what he does while awaiting trial? Do you honestly think the 73 year old guy is going to take his grandkids and make a run for it? His secret plan of escape includes notifying the judge of his travel plans first?
Or maybe you are angry because you'd like to throw out the legal system and treat him as guilty prior to the trial? Maybe he thought it was his taser, maybe he didn't, either way the guy is going to trial and it isn't anyone's concern what he does prior to the trial.

Already said that.

he should be in jail. the sole fact that he is fleeing to Jamaica is a public announcement of his guilt. he knows he is guilty and should be and will be locked up. this is why he is trying to enjoy his freedom while it lasts.
this guy does not deserve life in prison. he deserves the death penalty. the same execution that he gave that nice respectful young African American boy

Yes, because this is how other people indicted for manslaughter are treated all the time...

Actually yes. Yes it is. If they are not considered to be a threat to flee they are allowed to go about their business until their scheduled time in court.
But maybe that was just too obvious for you.

manslaughter? it was 4th degree premeditated murder and a hate crime.

That article states he was charged with manslaughter.
And to the person who suggested this was normal--no, manslaughter indictees are not commonly allowed to travel out of the country while awaiting trial.

Actually, manslaughter indictees ARE commonly allowed to travel out of country while awaiting trial IF they are not considered a threat to flee.

It doesn't become true if you keep saying it.
Why isn't it true?
Why would a 73 year old man with plenty of wealth to support fleeing to another country to live out the rest of his life when he almost certainly will go to jail flee the country? I don't think someone like this is a flight risk, I mean he is wealthy and white, so he wouldn't break the law.

It doesn't become false if you keep denying it.
