Hello letsrun,
I was wondering about the factors indicating a talent for running.
I have some colleagues that have run sub 45:00 10k without much training while some would be around 1 hour.
Not a lot of physical activity apparently between them (strong rage maybe, but does it even matter?). Is it based on talent only, can the difference be that big?
How would you spot talent for running?
Is it based on appearance?
ex:
- Skinny physique (broad shoulders/large frame are out)
- long legs
- not that tall
Is there a big difference between distances?
ex: one would have natural talent for marathon while another for 5k?
If you have a group of 100 people, how would you know if someone was more suitable for running than others?
Thanks
